No disturbance during my vacation

After sharing all the requested documents to the on-site team and I have put out of office mail effective immediately stating I have no access to mails and shall only respond post vacation. I knew, if I had not mentioned about these out of office mail, the on-site team would again bother me with repetitive requests and would request updated documents during my vacation. So, immediately after sending those documents to the on-site team, I was expecting them to bother me again with iterative change requests and to my surprise post setting up my out of office mail, I did not receive single mail from the on-site team regarding pending service request. I was taken aback by the action of the on-site team on this service request and was hoping that the service request was being addressed at on-site and minimal or nil support was required from offshore. During my vacation days, I also had a thought of calling the offshore delivery lead about the status of the service request. However, I completely backed off from this initiative, as I may get new work and may require supporting partially to close the request. Resuming work after a long vacation and got new work

After my long vacation, I had to connect from home until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic across the country and while enjoying my vacation with my family, I was hopeful that I don’t get much work after resuming work. Initially, after resuming work, all seemed to be smooth and there was no work till noon. However, out of nowhere my manager was pinging me and was checking about coronavirus situation at my native place and was requesting me to be safe. I was completely astonished by this behavior from my manager and I understood its reason behind this message after a few mins of discussion. My manager finally came to the point that there was a new opportunity from an account with the same onsite and offshore team, with whom I had multiple iterations of changes, and the opportunity was supposed to be closed within a short span of time. With no options left, as I have been on a long vacation and had no work on my table, I acknowledged my manager and accepted new work from old account team. Little did I knew that this would rip me off for more than 2 weeks with the workload and to know more, feel free to check out the “G R Team Sites”

Oscillation about new work from my manger

After spending ruthless two weeks of tiring work with irritating leadership reviews and with one of the worst account team, I finally found some off time to relax a bit for the next opportunity. For the next two days after completion of that service request, I did not have single work to do and was leisurely browsing YouTube videos and surfing the internet. The next day my manager was chatting with me in office communicator and at back off my mind, I knew I was about to get new work and within few minutes, he conveyed me that new work has come and it seems complicated and might take lot odd bandwidth for next two weeks. After hearing this comment, I was worried about two things, one thing is my managers conveys that service request was easy, then it would be exactly opposite of it and vice versa, the second one was if he says two days’ work, then it would take the entire week to complete it. So, now he had said it would be complicated and might take 2 weeks my time, my major doubt was whether the new service request was seriously complicated or my manger completely misunderstood it or would it really take 2 weeks’ time or much simpler work. Manager getting furious with onsite team

So, after working on weekend with irrelevant slides and inputs shared by manager, the onsite team completely changed the direction of the service request with completely new options. I had to put in all my efforts to come up with relevant slides and out of nowhere my manager jumps in and provide some stupid suggestions, completely out of picture for the client requirements. I had no other option to incorporate the inputs suggested by my manager and each day the onsite team would convey that they are unhappy with the deck and required out of box thinking for the slides. This continued for almost a week and I had a planned vacation for next week and my manager wants to complete this request before vacation. However, onsite team was unhappy about the slides and they ensured my manager had to work in my absence. My manager was working on some slides with his own thought process and it was thrown out by the onsite team. My manager got furious about onsite teams reaction and to know more, check out blog posts in “G R Team Sites”

Looped back into irritating opportunity after vacation

So, after logging back from vacation and learning my older mails that one more team member has been assigned to support that irritating opportunity, I was relieved and was in positive thought that I would be supporting little bit and he would front end the opportunity. However, when I checked with him about the updates, he was conveying me that he was looped in to send initial version and I would take care from here to complete this opportunity. I was completely furious and for a moment I thought I got saved from this irritating opportunity and team by my vacation and now, it came back to me again, sigh! I checked with him about that status updates and pending action items to completed from end. After discussion, I found that only couple of slides to be completed and I have some related slides with me already to complete it sooner than expected. Continue reading at “G R Team Sites”
