About JJSSWW
There is a thing the app will not let you do. Support calls it a feature request and closes the ticket. We spend our time on that gap, on who it inconveniences, and on why the company has decided the missing piece is cheaper to leave missing. That is the whole beat.
- JJSSWW has been running since 2010 and still publishes today. There are more than 500 articles here you can search.
- Every piece makes a claim you can check yourself. Open the app, follow the steps, and see whether the thing we said is missing is missing. Adverts and paid placement fund the site, and a paid link says so on the page. An advertiser can pay to be seen here and cannot pay to have a missing feature described as a design choice.
- The questions come from the people stuck with the gap. Why can this app not export my own data. Why does the free plan drop the one setting I actually need, every single time. Who exactly benefits from making this hard.
- We name the company and argue the case. That reads as unfair to some people, and we would rather be unfair than vague.
- Follow along and the pattern gets easier to see, so the next time a platform quietly removes something you will know it was removed rather than never there. You will also know what to ask for.
A post starts with a complaint. We do the steps ourselves, write down the version and the date, and say plainly who gains from the gap staying open, which is usually the company holding it open. If we get it wrong, the correction goes on the same page.
Most software writing tells you what an app does, and this one asks what it refuses to do.
