19. Betrayal in my Team

Now I have found that my salary hike percentage was different from my initial calculation and to my surprise it was even slightly higher than my expectation. I had the most difficult task at my hand, that the manager in my team had requested to share the hike percentage and even though as per company’s policy it is against revealing hike numbers to colleagues, I had no other options but to convey some numbers to him. If I had not revealed it to the manager and he would definitely make a note of it and it would be reflective at any moment during my work. So, after so many thought processes I have decided to convey some numbers to that manager and was even more confused now. As to whether reveal the actual numbers or reveal slightly reduced hike percentage or inflated hike percentage or even ignore the conversation all together. The instinct was always against revealing the numbers to that manager and I actually did exactly opposite of the same. One more opportunity with the same SME

After completion of that complex opportunity with the most difficult person to work with, I was taking some rest for few days. And again, there was new opportunity that had arrived in my inbox and I had to definitely work on the same. I was hoping that it would be same old delivery expert and the new complex delivery expert, with whom I had to work for completion. To my surprise the old delivery expert with whom I had good rapport had decided not to work on the opportunities and was busy with his own deliverables. The most irritating thing happened to me, as I had to work with this complex delivery expert to complete and I was requesting some assistance for me. And again, it turned against me I was provided with a team member, who was least bothered about the work and takes it easy on all opportunities that is being assigned. For this opportunity I had to work with two extreme persons, one with most rude and ego-ish delivery expert and the other was my team member who was least bothered about the work. Continuation to my opportunity work

After knowing that I had to work on the opportunity and my delivery would be deck with the inputs from the assigned SME, I had to drop all my plans about being leisure for few days. Once the morning call got over, I called the SME to enquire about the information and future steps. The delivery SME said she would get back to me with the required information and the work seems to be minimal, we can connect later in the days. I was relieved to know that there was minimal work and was going back to my leisure browsing, but sensing something fishy I had opened a deck and was incorporating some random slides to just show off my manger that I was also working. The end of the day came and I called the delivery SME to enquire about the support required, unfortunately due to her other commitments she would not be able to provide details as of now and would share at their earliest by Monday. So, I had to leave for the Friday evening to my home and all of a sudden there was another call saying that we have one more call scheduled for Saturday morning and we would require you to be on the call.
